BEIJING—As the art world looks east toward the rising Chinese economy, Louise Blouin Media has announced twin ventures that will bring the publishing company into this new marketplace: a new partnership with China Yahoo!, and a new sister site, ARTINFO China. The initiatives, announced earlier today at Hotel Sofitel Wanda Beijing, will introduce the ARTINFO brand to a growing Chinese audience that is eager to learn the latest news about the arts and the art market, plus fashion, celebrity, luxury, and style. As a result of the arrangement with China Yahoo!, ARTINFO — the online arm of Louise Blouin Media — will provide the popular Web portal with a steady stream of this content, both local and international, through a new CULTURE+STYLE channel on www.cn.Yahoo.com. ARTINFO China, which will be in Mandarin, will then function as the media company's signature online base in the country.
“We are delighted to form this new relationship with Yahoo and are privileged to be regarded as the leading resource of art and culture news for the Chinese public," said Louise Blouin, the chairman and CEO of Louise Blouin Media. "China is historically rich in traditional art and fosters defining, vibrant contemporary art at the present and for the future as well. This partnership and ARTINFO China embody the company’s goal of fostering culture beyond borders, as it is an extension our depth of art world expertise across a breadth of geographic locations.”

China Yahoo! president Tiger Wang, who celebrated the partnership with Blouin at a dinner the two co-hosted after the announcement, said the arrangement would make the portal a destination for up-to-the-minute cultural coverage. "China Yahoo! is committed to offering dynamic news and entertainment content to its users, and is very pleased to work with Louise Blouin Media to deliver the latest on international arts, culture, luxury and style,” he said. “With this partnership, China Yahoo! will continue to enhance the user experience for Chinese netizens with unique and compelling content from Louise Blouin Media.”
The venture is ARTINFO's first international expansion, and will have a dedicated staff based in China. The site will be overseen by Benjamin Genocchio, Louise Blouin Media's vice president of editorial, who will preside over its content together with that of ARTINFO U.S.
